Skilling Up for Stronger Voices resources training is now offered by NAVCA to equip participants with the information and materials they need to deliver the Skilling Up for Stonger Voices Resources in their area of benefit. This course is not for representatives themselves, but is for course participants who will then deliver the materials to local representative. Phase 2 launch of National Programme for Third Sector Commissioning. The second phase of the National Programme for Third Sector commissioning is now live. IDeA - the improvement and development agency for local government - is heading a new partnership of leading public and third sector agencies who will deliver training and support to commissioners, councillors and third sector leaders. Third Sector National Learning Alliance have issued a second bulletin as part of the support programme for voluntary and third sector providers, as the Learning and Skills Council undergoes major changes. By 2010 there will be new structures and arrangements for the planning and allocation of funds for education and training in both 16-18 and post-19 adult age groups. Financial Capability & Inclusion Project for East of England: Citizens Advice is leading a new partnership of voluntary sector organisations providing free training in managing money across the East of England. This training is for people who are not in paid work and the frontline workers (paid and voluntary) who support them. The training is delivered in short sessions in the community and can be delivered within the groups that people already meet. For more information and details of the contacts in your area click here. Citizens Advice has also developed a network of financial capability and inclusion forums across the East of England to support this project. The forums are already meeting in each county and have attracted a wide range of organisations - voluntary sector, local authorities, credit unions, housing associations and Citizens Advice Bureaux . The Cambridge Community Knowledge Exchange is a new initiative from the University of Cambridge which provides free access to research for voluntary and community sector organisations. They work with community organisations who want some research carried out and with students who need to carry out a project as part of their degree, seeking to make a match between the two. Voluntary and community sector organisations can gain access to research services free of charge whilst students have the opportunity to apply academic skills in the community and make a real difference. read more
