Information, Advice and Guidance

The Community and Voluntary Forum Eastern Region (COVER) provides its members and other third sector organisations, (our users), with comprehensive, accurate, up to date information on issues relating to the World Class Skills agenda. To this end we advise on, and disseminate information which is free, confidential and impartial. The services we provide are intended to support our users in increasing their knowledge and understanding of current skills and learning issues, make informed decisions about opportunities offered by COVER and to signpost to services provided by other bodies or organisations. Information is available on:

  • Workforce Development
  • Skills for Life
  • Train to Gain
  • The National Skills Pledge
  • Lifelong Learning
  • Apprenticeships
  • Learning and Training opportunities
  • Latest Government policy and strategy on learning and skills

COVER may, from time to time, be involved in the delivery of other projects and / or services, either as a contractor or sub-contractor. If these projects / services fall within the service categories above they will be covered under any quality marks we may hold, but if they do not, then they will not be covered.

How we deliver information

  • By Telephone: Information is available via telephone Monday-Friday 09:00-17.00, with a voicemail facility to leave messages out of hours. Team meetings and training events are very important to the quality of the services provided. It may, therefore, be necessary at certain times to offer a voicemail service only during normal opening hours whilst training is taking place.

  • Face to Face/Outreach: Meetings can be arranged with COVER staff at our office and some of our project staff work out and about in the region delivering face to face information via workshops, events and presenting at meetings and conferences. To read the COVER Statement of Service, you can click here.

Limitations of COVER

COVER offers information about the services and issues detailed in this document within the East of England region. Users may be signposted to other services in the region as appropriate.

COVER makes every effort to keep the information it holds up to date. However, accuracy depends, to a large extent, on providers informing us of any changes to the service they offer and providing us with up to date contact information and brochures. Whilst we try our best, we cannot guarantee the accuracy of the information provided.

Information will not be made available for business or commercial use and such enquirers will be directed to the website.

COVER does not provide guidance for careers or undertaking qualifications. We would always signpost you to a service or provider qualified to offer such a service.
