Influencing Regional Agendas
A core part of COVER's role is in our regional networking. We work to influence regional agendas to meet the needs, priorities and aspirations of the Voluntary and Community Sector. We have representatives on over thirty different regional forums and networks, championing the Voluntary and Community Sector. These representatives are able to share information about what's happening in regional politics and decision making with the rest of the sector. One of the ways they do this is through the Eastern Region Infrastructure Network (ERIN).
We connect directly with EEDA, our Regional Development Agency, and the Government Office for the East of England. We are involved at the heart of regional governance structures as they evolve through our representatives on the 'Stakeholder Partnership', a body of interested parties in the region in the areas of business, the environment, higher education and the third sector. This partnership nominates two representatives onto the Regional Strategy Board which will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of an Integrated Regional Strategy for the East of England. We also work with the various bodies responsible for skills and health agendas in the region, and other partnerships and networks working at a regional level.
For more information about our representative functions, you can contact Andy Cogan, Chief Executive on 01799 532880.
