Department of Health project

COVER, together with its equivalent organisations in the other English regions, is a partner in a national Department of Health project around communicating with the third sector.

The project aims to build mechanisms for an effective flow of information, intelligence and evidence between local third sector organisations and the Department of Health, Strategic Health Authorities and other agencies; providing high quality evidence-based input to policy and strategy development, and an efficient conduit for communication with third sector organisations

It will also provide:

  • Opportunities and support for Third sector organisations to come together, collaborate or form partnerships to address health related provision (both prevention and care).
  • Build the capability and capacity of the third sector to engage with the health and social care agenda.

During the first year of the project (2009-2010) COVER are running two consultation exercises to response to national health related consultations, as well as holding a one-day conference for health and social care organisations in the region.

For more information about the project please contact Jan Cunningham, EU Programmes Manager on 01799 532880.
