Department of Health project
COVER, together with its equivalent organisations in the other English regions, is a partner in a national Department of Health project around communicating with the third sector.
The project aims to build mechanisms for an effective flow of information, intelligence and evidence between local third sector organisations and the Department of Health, Strategic Health Authorities and other agencies; providing high quality evidence-based input to policy and strategy development, and an efficient conduit for communication with third sector organisations
It will also provide:
- Opportunities and support for Third sector organisations to come together, collaborate or form partnerships to address health related provision (both prevention and care).
- Build the capability and capacity of the third sector to engage with the health and social care agenda.
For more information about the project please contact Jan Cunningham, EU Programmes Manager on 01799 532880.
Regional Men's Health Event
On the 20th April, COVER hosted a Men's Health Event at the Imperial War Museum in Duxford. Working together with our partners, the Men's Health Forum and Regional Voices, we organised a range of speakers and workshops, including regional and national Department of Health speakers. Surrounded by aircraft past and present, over 70 delegates were given the opportunity to attend two workshops and gather information from our market place over lunch. Feedback was very positive, and we would like to thank all of those who helped to make the day a success.
